This editoral is stemmed from Tom Hanks and his new series depicting ww2 as all about race and racism. This article talks about how Tom has it depicted wrong and although racism played a huge part Americans werent fully against all those in Asia. In fact the article talks about how in some parts we liberated. hanks says ww11 had a racist motive and that so does the war on terrorism. I thought this editoral was unique because it involved a celebrity and his real thoughts instead of fluff.

This editorial is discussing the increase in federal employees, their pay raises and compares the federal employment to LBJ's time when the federal government had more employees. This article criticizes the federal government for spending more in the recession and not cutting back like the rest of the country has felt they have had to do. The president's director of the Office of Personnel Management,John Berry, is quoted throughout the article as a good source for inside a few aspects of the government. What stuck out to me in this article was the desk employees who have abused the privileges of their job, gotten more money for it, and yet only a slap on the wrist for taking advantage.

This editorial is all about a bill to reauthorize the Federal Aviation Administration. This bill would basically ground Fedex express who does over 85% of their business in the air. The editorial discusses that Fedex does emergency medical deliveries and how a huge portion of the entire nation deepnds on Fedex express. I thought it was interesting that the House wuold even consider basically banning Fedex from the air when so many people rely on the mail that is transfered in the air. All packages, envelopes, and mail would be slowed down by this bill. I think that Fedex should be allowed in the air.

This editorial is about hand-gun bans. This article discusses the insights learned the the D.C. hand-gun bun. The article discusses how everywhere that has enacted a hand gun ban the crime ban has increased instead of decreased as promised. This article describes instances where the murder rates rose when the hand-gun ban was in effect and fell immediately when the ban was lifted. This article gives you insight to see that law-abiding citizens hold handguns, not criminals and when you take away their right to bare a hand gun you lessen their freedom you lessen safety. I enjoyed this article because it was short sweet and to the point. I think it was very interesting that the government in different places purpose in banning hand guns to lessen violence but really it had the opposite effect.

This editorial is about air safety and states incidents where in some cases people have died simply because pilots weren't doing their job correctly. It discusses the no "un-job related" talking under 10,000 feet and the new debate if cock-pits conversations should be checked more regularly. The conversations are only checked when there is an accident. This article states some specific incidents and what the pilots were talking about when the accident occurred. In one case the pilots were on their laptops. The end of the article discussed National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration and Congress in enacting recording the pilots conversations. My opinion of the editorial is that pilots should be monitored irregularly. I think this because in some cases pilots have killed passengers due to negligence.
