current event article
The article I read about was on new findings that the Titanic's design was faulty. This article stating that the Titanic could have very well sunk in a storm simply because of the faulty design. A team paired with the History Channel and Lone Wolf Documentary group discovered that Titanic broke at a very shallow angle. An angle that ships could be subject to if hit by a large storm. Due to the fact that the Titanic sank at such a low angle these scientists proposed that the design of the stern was faulty and even if it had not hit an iceberg if Titanic had run into a large storm the same scenerio would have happened and the ship would have been split in two. To test the scientists theory they ventured to Titanic's sister ship the Britannic to see her design. The evidence they found to support their idea that Titanic's design was faulty is that the Britannic had two extra expansion joint near the stern. To the scientists this suggests that the company building the ships must have known Titanic's design was a bit faulty so they added the two extra expansion joints to the Brittanic. This is a valid conclusion because btoh ships were built in the same yard by the same company yet one design was changed.
